The Whetstone Portal is the private platform Whetstone Admissions provides to its students, their parents, and our mentors. It is where an application actually gets managed — deadlines, sessions, school lists, essays, testing, and progress, in one place instead of scattered across email and spreadsheets.
The portal is operated by Whetstone Advisory LLC (DBA Whetstone Admissions) and is available at app.whetstoneadmissions.com.
Open the PortalAccounts are created by Whetstone staff for active clients. The portal is not open for public sign-up — if you are working with us and need access, contact your mentor.
Connecting Google Calendar is entirely optional, and the portal works fully without it. When a user chooses to connect, the portal keeps their Whetstone sessions and deadlines in sync with their own calendar so they do not have to copy dates by hand.
We request only the two Google Calendar scopes needed for that sync, and nothing else:

We read event titles, dates, times, and attendee email addresses in order to identify sessions between staff and students. We do not access or store the content of events unrelated to Whetstone sessions, and we do not share Google Calendar data with third parties. OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only to sync calendar data.
A user can disconnect at any time from the portal, or by revoking access in their Google Account settings.
Whetstone's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and we do not sell it.
Portal accounts are created by Whetstone staff on behalf of students and parents; there is no public registration. Access to data is restricted by role — students see only their own information, parents can view their child's, and staff access is governed by caseload assignment.
